Sunday January 5, 2003 ODCB Newburgh Bicentennial Celebration Newburgh Presbyterian Church To celebrate Newburgh’s bicentennial, the Old Dam Community Band’s conductor, Jon Patton, and the first trombone player, Wayne Fiester, collaborated to write a special song, “Ode To Newburgh”. At the celebration program at the Presbyterian Church the song was sung by Wanda Kavanaugh.

Sunday, April 13, 2003 ODCB Stavanger, Norway Band Concert Castle High School Auditorium The Old Dam Community Band opened the concert followed by the Bend In The River Brass Band. The prize winning Stavanger Brass Band from Norway provided a grand finale to this day of music.

Earlier Newburgh Bands Long before The Old Dam Community Band came upon the scene, there was music in Newburgh. Steamboats with their bands and calliopes stopped by from time to time.
Kuebler Gardens was a popular spot for recreation in Newburgh.
BAND AT KUEBLER GARDENS In 1892, the following invitation was issued for a ball in Newburgh. The music was provided by the “Newburgh Orchestra” which provided selections for the dance card shown here.
