Old Dam Band Jam 2003

On Sunday, September 7, as part of the 3rd Annual Newburgh Jazz Fest, the Old Dam Community Band co-hosted a special day of band music with the Newburgh Arts Community organization.  It was free to the public  

Following is a run-down of the scheduled events.  We are extremely pleased with this fruition of a plan that's been percolating for three years. 
    

Noon to 12:40       The Little Old Dam Band – a ten piece Dixieland group

                            performing New Orleans style jazz, turn-of-the-century 

                            ‘sing-along’ tunes, and once popular dances.

12:40 to 12:50                                   setup

12:50 to 1:10         Todd Seibert, an 11 year old music student of Donna Davis , 

                              will perform a medley of Beatles tunes.  

1:10 to 1:20                                        setup

1:20 to 2:00         The Hadi Shrine Band performs popular music and show tunes.

2:00 to 2:10                                       setup

2:10 to 2:50          CFC Swing Band.  A new group of 23 musicians from the

                            Christian Fellowship Church .

2:50 to 3:00                                       setup

3:00 to 3:40          The Owensboro Community Band – a new group from

                             Owensboro founded earlier this year performing traditional

                            Americana music.

3:40 to 3:50                                       setup

3:50 to 4:30          The Bend In The River Brass Band – a traditional

                            European-style brass band playing a variety of popular music.

4:30 to 4:40                                       setup

4:40 to 5:20          The Rhine Valley Brass Band – The house band from

                            Germannia Mannerchoir playing German folk music.  Have your

                            Dancin’ shoes on!

5:20 to 5:30                                       setup

5:30 to 6:00          The Mount Vernon High School Jazz Band.

6:00 to 6:10                                       setup 

6:10 to 6:50           The Old Dam Community Band – Newburgh ’s own
                        community show tunes.
